| | AMSOIL Fuel Additives P.I. Performance Improver Concentrate (API) AMSOIL PI improved fuel economy by reducing port fuel injector deposits, intake valve deposits and combustion chamber deposits in 100% of the vehicles tested!Reformulated for greater potency Package sizes include: 12-oz. Bottle 12-oz. Bottles (case of 12) | Untreated Fuel Leads to Poor Engine Performance A vehicle demonstrates its best efficiency and engine performance when it is new. As the engine ages, its performance suffers from gasoline fuel-generated deposits that form on the fuel injectors, intake valves and combustion chamber. Additives are required to control deposit formation. Today’s fuels, however, lack sufficient treatments of either enough additives or high quality additives. Fuel system deposits result in the following: • Lost fuel economy • Lost power and poor throttle response • Failed emission tests • Poor drivability - surging, hesitation, stalling, rough idle • Engine knocking (pinging) and rap • Difficult starts Treated Fuel Delivers Maximum Performance AMSOIL PI is the most potent gasoline additive available today. As a concentrated detergent, it is unsurpassed in cleaning combustion chamber deposits, intake valve deposits and port fuel injector deposits. AMSOIL PI helps maintain peak engine efficiency, fuel economy, power and drivability in newer low mileage engines. In engines with accumulated deposits, testing showed AMSOIL PI provided the following clean-up benefits after only one tank of gasoline: • Improves fuel mileage an average of 2.3% and up to 5.7% • Reduced emissions • hydrocarbons (HC) up to 15% • carbon monoxide (CO) up to 26% • nitrous oxides (NOx) up to 17% • Restored power and performance • Reduced need for costly higher octane fuel • Reduced noise from carbon rap and pre-ignition • Better drivability • Smoother operation AMSOIL PI works as an “emissions passer.” It is ideal for use prior to emissions inspections. Unsurpassed Deposit Clean-up Port Fuel Injector Deposits form after the engine has been shut down and there is no gasoline flowing through the injectors. During this “hot soak” period the injectors heat up and the gasoline remaining in the injectors degrades and forms deposits. This can happen very quickly with the use of poor quality gasoline and short trip driving. Because the clearances within the injectors are extremely tight and injectors must deliver precise amounts of “atomized” fuel, even small amounts of deposits can cause injectors to malfunction. Fuel flow is reduced and spray patterns are disrupted, decreasing engine efficiency, power and fuel economy, while increasing exhaust emissions. Intake Valve Deposits form on the intake side or back side of the valves. As deposits increase, they restrict airflow and alter airflow patterns in the cylinder. The deposits disrupt the balanced air/fuel ratio by momentarily absorbing and releasing fuel, and they can cause valve sticking by getting in the way of the valve stem and guide. Deposits also restrict proper seating, and the valves may be burned. Intake valve deposits cause lost engine power, increased emissions, poor engine efficiency and potential valve failure. Combustion Chamber Deposits form on the top of the pistons and on the cylinder heads. They increase compression and absorb heat during combustion to later release it during the intake cycle. In some engines with tight squish domes, combustion chamber deposits cause the piston to actually hit the cylinder head. This is referred to as combustion chamber deposit interference or “carbon rap.” Combustion chamber deposits also flake off as they get large, and these flakes can get trapped between the valves and valve seat, resulting in compression loss, difficult starting and rough idle. Higher compression and stored heat cause increased intake fresh charge temperatures and the increased likelihood of pre-ignition “knock” or “pinging” when the fuel spontaneously combusts prior to spark ignition. This increases emissions and may cause engine damage. Many of today’s cars have “knock” sensors that adjust spark timing to prevent knock. Although audible knock is controlled, power is lost from retarded timing. Higher octane fuels of 4-5 octane numbers can be used to help prevent knock, an effect called “octane requirement increase.” As a vehicle ages, more expensive higher octane fuel is needed to keep it operating at peak performance. By cleaning combustion chamber deposits, knock is controlled, power is restored, fuel economy increases and higher octane fuels are less necessary for peak performance. Maximum Fuel Economy AMSOIL PI maximizes fuel efficiency by dissolving and removing fuel system deposits and other contaminants for improved power and overall performance. Recommendations Treat one full tank of gas every 4,000 miles or 100 hours of service. One bottle treats 20 gallons of gas. Do not treat and run more than 40 gallons of gas per treatment. PI helps pass emissions tests. Treat gas, run that tank and fill up again prior to test. Safe for use with catalytic converters, oxygen sensors, oxygenated gas and 10% ethanol blended gas. Not recommended for two cycle engines. DANGER: Combustible. Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Harmful if inhaled. Skin and eye irritant. Read precautions on container before use. |

What does “octane number” mean? Why does it matter? The tendency of a hydrocarbon fuel, such as gasoline, to knock is measured by its octane number. Lower numbers denote a greater knock tendency; higher numbers denote greater knock control. “Knock” is an uncontrolled and explosive ignition of fuel in the combustion chamber. It causes a knocking or pinging sound, robs the engine of power and, left unchecked, causes serious engine damage. Knock may be eliminated with the appropriate octane number. |

Improves the performance, fuel efficiency and longevity of diesel engines while reducing deposits, black smoke and emissions. Improves fuel economy by cleaning dirty injectors and restores horsepower. Designed for use in heavy-duty diesel engines. Package sizes include: 16-oz. Bottle 16-oz. Bottles (case of 12) 5-Gallon Pail 55-Gallon Drum | Product Description AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate (ADF) provides maximum diesel operating efficiency. It compensates for the variances in quality of different fuels (including biodiesel) and the deficiencies of today’s Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel fuel (ULSD) for better engine operation. New engine technology, tighter tolerances and emission regulations require high-quality diesel fuel for long-term engine operability. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate meets the low sulfur mandate. It improves diesel fuel quality to exceed today’s stringent performance requirements. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate extends equipment life, lowers operating costs and improves diesel performance. Improves Fuel Economy and Restores Horsepower As diesel engines are used, they become less efficient over time. Fuel injector deposits interrupt spray patterns, causing poor fuel atomization, incomplete combustion, excessive emissions and smoke. Tests prove that AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate cleans dirty injectors, improving fuel economy by up to five percent and restoring horsepower to like new. Acceleration is improved and with regular use, AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate continues to enhance performance by keeping injectors clean. The net savings on fuel expense can result in no additional cost to vehicle operation.
Lubricates Fuel Pump and Injectors Ultra low sulfur diesel fuel has significantly reduced lubricity – a critical property in controlling wear in fuel pumps and injectors. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate adds back all the lubricity properties needed and more. Fuel pump and injector service life is extended, saving time and money on maintenance costs. Reduces Cylinder Wear, Retains Engine Oil TBN Longer With high rates of exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) in modern diesel engines, acids from combustion are of particular concern. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate neutralizes acids during combustion. It helps reduce acid caused cylinder wear and helps extend engine oil TBN, maintaining engine oil quality longer for better protection. Minimizes Soot Loading AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate is a powerful cleaner that cleans fuel injectors and piston rings for improved combustion and better sealing. It minimizes soot generated from incomplete combustion and helps keep soot out of the crankcase. Reduced soot loading controls soot related wear and engine oil viscosity increase. Fuel Stabilizer Fuel degradation can cause gums, which increase deposits and the chance of filter plugging. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate significantly improves the oxidation and thermal stability of diesel fuel. It overcompensates for ultra low sulfur diesel fuel’s potential stability loss caused by extra processing and sulfur removal. Diesel fuel treated with AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate easily meets the requirements of the National Council of Weights and Measures (NCWM) Premium Diesel Fuel Specification for resisting diesel fuel degradation. Separates Fuel and Water AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate is an alcohol-free product that protects fuel systems against water contamination. It helps prevent fuel/water emulsions and it protects metal against rust. Water can be drained easier and fuel filters are less likely to plug, ensuring drivability. Heating Oil Improver AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate provides many of the same benefits in heating oil furnace applications. It provides fuel oil storage stability, water stability, rust protection, fuel oil filter longevity, and its exceptional cleaning properties are expected to keep fuel oil nozzles clean for proper spray in the combustion chamber. AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate promotes trouble-free operation. AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver is recommended where fuel oil is stored outside. Recommendations AMSOIL Diesel Concentrate is recommended for use with all types of heavy- and light-duty, on- or off-road and marine diesel engines. Recommended mix ratio is one oz. of additive per five gallons of fuel. Use with every new tank of fuel for the best performance and protection against fuel pump wear, injector wear and injector deposits. Compatible with all types of exhaust emission systems such as diesel particulate filters (DPFs). Add Diesel Concentrate to fuel before storage. Diesel Cold Flow Improver (ACF) Package sizes include: 16-oz. Bottle 16-oz. Bottles (case of 12) AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver (ACF) has been reformulated to provide maximum cold flow capabilities in diesel fuels. The new formulation provides superior performance over the former DFF formulation, which is available while supplies last. Cold Weather and Diesel Fuel As the temperature drops, the wax naturally found in diesel fuel begins to form crystals. The point at which wax crystals form is known as the cloud point. These wax crystals eventually clog the fuel filter and starve the engine of fuel or prevent it from starting. While low-quality fuels may form wax crystals in temperatures as warm as 40°F (4°C), most fuels have a cloud point near 32°F (0°C). #1 Diesel Fuel One traditional solution to cold-weather problems in diesel engines is the use of #1 diesel fuel, which is diesel fuel diluted with kerosene. While #1 diesel fuel has an advantage in low temperature operability, there are also several disadvantages. The energy content of #1 diesel fuel is about 95 percent of #2 diesel fuel, resulting in reduced fuel economy and less horsepower. In addition, the kerosene used in #1 diesel fuel provides less lubrication for the fuel pump and fuel distributor, increasing the likelihood for wear on these critical components. Cold Weather Performance Parameters There are several areas of diesel fuel improvement touted by various cold flow additive manufacturers, including pour point, cloud point and cold filter plugging point (CFPP). Many claims can be misleading, so it is important to understand this terminology in order to determine which products truly provide superior performance. It is important to distinguish between CFPP and pour point. Many competitive products make great claims regarding pour point, leading consumers to believe their products are superior when they actually have an inferior CFPP. Once fuel surpasses its cloud point, the wax crystals begin to clog the fuel filter. The CFPP temperature is a more important characteristic than pour point because the engine will not run if fuel cannot pass through the fuel filter. AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver provides superior fuel flow to help prevent filter plugging in cold temperatures. It is formulated for a broad range of diesel fuels, including #1 diesel fuel, #2 diesel fuel, biodiesel and hard-to-treat ULSD fuels. AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver minimizes the need for blending standard #2 diesel fuel with lower quality #1 diesel fuel, helping maintain fuel economy and keep engines functioning normally. It is also excellent for use with home heating oil and kerosene heat systems. AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver uses a jet-fuel-type deicer that disperses water to control ice formation throughout the fuel system. It inhibits wax crystal formation and can improve diesel pour point by as much as 58°F (32°C), allowing fuel to flow to the engine more easily and improving diesel engine reliability in cold temperatures. In addition, AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver lowers the CFPP by as much as 34°F (18°C) in ULSD. Concentrated ACF vs. ACF Blended with Fuel The new formulation of AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver will show no signs of solidifying in its concentrated state in the bottle until the temperature reaches -22°F (-30°C), a great improvement over the previous formulation, which solidified in the bottle at 0°F (-18°C). Cold Flow Improver will only freeze in its concentrated state, and AMSOIL recommends storing it at temperatures above 0°F (-18°C). If ACF is allowed to freeze in the bottle it can be thawed and used. When mixed with diesel fuel, ACF effectively improves diesel fuel cold temperature properties. It is recommended, however, that fuel be treated at temperatures above 32° F (0°C). ACF will not dissolve wax crystals which have already formed in the fuel. Application Information AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver is specifically formulated for improving fuel flow, helping maintain fuel integrity and preventing the clogging of filters and injectors. It is excellent for use with diesel fuels, heating oils and kerosene. Two oz. of AMSOIL Cold Flow Improver treats five gallons of fuel, or one 16 oz. bottle for 40 gallons. The clear bottles feature an easy-to-read graduation label for accurate dispensing, helping ensure proper treat ratios.

Package sizes include: 16-oz. Bottle 16-oz. Bottles (case of 6) 5-Gallon Pail | Why Clean Your Engine? Chances are, when your engine was new it delivered the power and fuel efficiency it was designed for. But now, as your engine accumulates miles, things are happening that are adversely affecting its performance. Slowly but surely, your engine is gathering harmful deposits that will eventually cost you money. Even though you may follow a routine service schedule, your driving conditions may be far from routine. Stop and go driving, prolonged periods of idling, short trips that don't allow your engine time to warm up, towing a trailer, the ingestion of airborne dirt, fuel dilution, water condensation, and oxidized oil will eventually cause the formation of a thick, gummy deposit known as sludge. Settling throughout the engine, sludge will clog oil passages, restricting the flow of oil to vital engine parts, especially in the upper valve train areas. Don't put clean oil in a dirty engine!
When an engine gets dirty, even regular oil changes can't help restore its operating efficiency. The detergents/dispersants in most conventional engine oils can't handle the abnormal amounts of contamination found in a "dirty" engine. The new oil becomes dirty long before it should, losing much of its ability to lubricate and protect your engine and actually accelerating the formation of more sludge and varnish.
In this age of longer recommended drain intervals, it is especially important to have a clean engine before changing oil. Using AMSOIL Fast Acting Engine Flush when you change oil is an excellent way to guarantee your engine stays clean. It has special solvents and cleaning agents that act fast but gently to remove harmful deposits that can cost you money in excessive fuel consumption and mechanical repairs.
AMSOIL Engine Flush is especially recommended for use before changing to AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils, assuring that these super premium long life oils provide the maximum protection and service life they are designed to deliver. The AMSOIL Formula for Better Engine Performance |
1) FLUSH: To quickly clean residual sludge and engine deposits, AMSOIL Engine Flush is recommended: Change the oil filter and add the flush (about 10% of the oil capacity). Do not overfill the crankcase. Idle the engine 15 to 20 minutes, then immediately drain the old oil and flush. *Note: Engine Flush is not recommended for use in transmissions, differentials, air-cooled engines, engines that share a common oil sump with the transmission (motorcycles & ATV's) or engine not equipped with an oil filter. 2) INSTALL: Remove the old oil filter and replace it with an AMSOIL Ea Oil Filter. Ea Oil Filters feature advanced full synthetic nanofiber technology, making them the highest efficiency filters that are available for the auto/light truck market. 3) POUR: Fill the engine's crankcase with the AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oil of the viscosity grade recommended by your vehicle's manufacturer. AMSOIL Synthetic Motor Oils are highly resistant to oxidation and provide exceptional detergent/dispersant properties, helping keep your engine free of further sludge and varnish build-up. 4) CHANGE: Replace your present air filter with an AMSOIL Ea Air Filter. AMSOIL Ea Air Filters represent a major breakthrough in filtration technology. The revolutionary nanofiber technology used in AMSOIL Ea Filters captures more dirt, holds more dirt and allows better air flow than conventional air filters. AMSOIL Ea Filters improve engine performance and help engines last longer. A clean engine performs better and lasts longer. Clean your engine and keep it clean with quality AMSOIL products. |
Gasoline Stabilizer (AST) It is difficult to drain all of the fuel from equipment before storage, and doing so would expose the system to other problems, including the formation of rust and corrosion on the bare metal in the tank and fuel system and the drying and cracking of gaskets and seals. Some fuels are pre-treated with oxidation inhibitors that allow them to be stored for short periods without forming excessive deposits, while other fuels have no inhibitors at all.AMSOIL Gasoline Stabilizer (AST) reduces the oxidation process that occurs when fuel is stored for extended periods, improving performance, extending equipment life and decreasing maintenance expenses. Package sizes include: 16-oz. Bottle 16-oz. Bottles (case of 6) | Two- and four-stroke recreational vehicles, hand-held power equipment, small engines, construction and farm equipment are commonly operated seasonally or infrequently, then stored for long periods of time. During these periods of inactivity, and as a result of fluctuations in ambient temperatures, water vapor can form condensate within the engine. When this condensate comes into direct contact with steel and iron components, it forms surface corrosion on cylinder liners, piston rings, anti-friction bearings and steel/iron contact surfaces on rotational seals. Long periods of storage can also dry out cylinders, often resulting in permanent damage when the equipment is taken out of storage and dry started. In addition, fuel within stored equipment tends to oxidize and form varnish and sludge deposits that clog injectors, fuel lines and carburetors, stick floats and cause poor engine performance, starting problems, increased maintenance expenses and decreased equipment life. |
Engine Fogging Oil (FOG) Offers superior film retention, providing long-term protection against corrosion and dry starts, extending engine life and reducing operating expenses. Its aerosol spray formulation offers easy and clean applications, while reaching more components and offering better distribution than straight motor oil. Package sizes include: 12-oz.
